People have heard him say at an early age all he ever wanted to do is "Play Music / Farm and Ranch". That is what his sights have always been set on and he has achieved his goal. At the young age of 4 Johnny was handed a guitar, bought from Sears and Roebuck by his Grandpa and told him to see what you can do with this. Johnny would set beside a big round top radio and listen to the Grand Old Opera on Saturday nights with his Grandparents and dream about playing there one day. He thought that he could make his own sound by combining three artists that he loved. In his mind he wanted to be as smooth as Jim Reeves; as deep as Ernest Tubb and as country as Hank Williams. This is what Johnny has done for the last 40 plus years with his talent. Johnny was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas and moved to Graham, Texas where he attended High School. At an early age of 12 he got to play with Bill Mac on two TV Stations in Wichita Falls and was a regular for over two years. He was entered in talent shows from Central Texas to Oklahoma and won most. While in high school one of his loves was Agriculture. He bought his first herd of register cattle while still in school. And soon as he finished school he bought his first 180 acres of land. He played around in different places all throughout North Texas and finally put together what he thought was the perfect country band and he named them "The Memory Makers" so was the beginning of Johnny Johnson and his Memory Makers Band. Johnny has had the privilege of playing with some of the greatest country music musicians in the business over the last several years. But his love of agriculture is what he does for a living today. Johnny, his wife Sally and son Jess have a Ranch in Jack County Texas where they raise Black Angus cattle and farm and ranch over 2000 acres. Every year Johnny and his band help raise thousands of dollars for the Volunteer Fire Department and the Community Club, that is for the FFA and 4H kids, in the small community of Perrin, Texas where he and his family live, with the population of about 400. He has been so blessed by becoming great friends with the person that we all call "The Boss Lady" Ms. Dorothy Glenn. She has booked him and his band at special events such the Peach Festival in Weatherford Texas for the last several years where the attendance is over 30,000 people each year. She continues to book him at weddings and other special country events all throughout North Texas.

Johnny was recognized in Texas Highway Magazine in July 2006 for his talent performing with his band at the Peach Festival. Johnny has recorded 3 CD's in the last few years. In 2000 he recorded "Paint It Country" in 2003 "Walks Right" and in 2006 "Angels Don't Lie". He still plays around North Central Texas with his band several nights a week. You see Johnny has not lost sight of his dreams- he farms and ranches during the day and he plays country music every time that he gets the chance.
